The maximum sum for online shopping in Ukraine is 8000 UAH

Ukrainians can pay for their online purchases  up to 8000 UAH as it was informed by the director of the General Department of Information Technology and Payment Systems of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Natalia Sinyavska.

The message has been posted on the official website of the NBU.

"Electronic money is a kind of calculations that are used in small amounts for payments on the Internet. To get e-money to the account, the client does not need to go to the bank to open an account, putting some money onto it. The client can do it all at home, at the computer. Having electronic money account enables clients either to make a cashless replenishment or purchase a scratch card with the corresponding nominal deposit. Therefore, the client gets the money to the account, "- said Sinyavska.

According to her, the use of electronic money is important for online shopping for goods or services.

"The main thing for the Ukrainians to know is that the money is not personalized. It means that a small amount of money (it is now limited to 8000 UAH), does not have an ID, whom it belongs to. You identify yourself in the electronic money by your phone number or a different set of numbers, but your first and last name, will not be seen. That is why this system is used for small purchases on the Internet. Money can be expressed only electronically. It cannot be picked up and touched. If you have some amount remained, then you can convert it into cash, "- she said.
